Tuesday night was our last game that we attended.  I could definitely be happy with season tickets for Tampa Bay.  With the amazing seats and the atmosphere, I had a great time.  However, my enjoyment was about to be doubled, no wait, TRIPLED.  It was dollar hot dog night.  I LOVE DOLLAR HOT DOG NIGHT!  I don't love it as much as Jessica Alba, but it's a close second, right about Dominican and Puerto Rican women.

A couple friends from high school that live in the Tampa area joined us for this game.  One of the guys, Chris, informed us he trained for the hot dog eating contest on Tuesday nights.  He bought 15 of those beautiful, beefy franks and he ate all of them.  I think he ate nine in 12 minutes.  Just 57 off the world record, but an increased number from his eight the week before.

Jesse Litsch was pitching for Toronto and he had a huge following since he was from the area.  He pitched very well and had the lead when he left the game.  He pitched 6 and 2/3 strong, shutout innings.  His pitching opponent, Edwin Jackson, also pitched a great game.  He went 6 innings and gave up one unearned run.  It's a shame that he picked up the lose for that.

An interesting story on Edwin Jackson:  One of the local radio stations was only going to call him Ed Jackson until he actually WON a game.  Some people had dubbed him "Edlose Jackson", because of his record.  I don't know what the deal with him is, when he came up with the Dodgers, he was supposed to be the next big thing.  He has not lived up to his potential, but he has pitched very well the second half of the season.  Since the all-star break, he has gone 36 and 2/3 innings and has given up 12 earned runs, while lowering his era from 7.23 to 5.84.  I know that it is still a very poor era, but he is making quite a big step in the right direction.

Also in this game, I got to see my first fan/security officer altercation.  I don't know what the guy did, but he let it be known that he was NOT leaving without being escorted out by "real police officers".  Well, he got his wish and even got threatened with a taser.  I wish he would have stood his ground, because I would have liked to have seen that.  It would have been the second tasering I've seen.  I got to witness Michael Olowokandi get tasered in a club in downtown Indianapolis a few years back.  It was awesome!

Well, after three days of baseball, I was sort of bummed out that we don't have a Major League team in Indy.  I like the Indianapolis Indians, but I would love to be able to go a Cubs or Cardinals game without having to drive three or four hours away!
