suzuki.jpgWith one swing of the bat, Kurt Suzuki lifted Oakland to their fourth straight win tonight.  The rookie catcher blasted a three-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to push them to an 8 - 5 win over the Chicago White Sox.  Suzuki actually was 2 for 4 on the night with 4 rbi.  He raised his average to .255 for the season, which is 29 points higher than Jason Kendall was hitting when he left town for Chicago.

If Suzuki can prove to be an offensive asset more than a defensive liability, then Oakland can continue to groom Daric Barton for the first base position.  Barton will probably be the last great prospect for a couple years for this organization.  There will be a few guys to fill in here and there, but nobody with great potential as of now.  Hopefully that will change!
