I had a wonderful weekend filled with a great road trip, watching A-Rod smash everything within 20 feet of him over the fence, spending time at the 810 Sports Zone watching college football, and listening to NFL football on the way home from Kansas City.  There was so much going on that I had to take the day to sit back and reflect on it.  I will say this, nothing beats spending time with a good friend, no matter what you are doing.  With that being said, let me get to what I loved from this past weeks college football action.

colt.jpgColt Brennan - He continues to impress me with his ability to lead his team.  After two games, he has thrown for 964 yards, 10 touchdowns, 1 interception, and is completing his passes at an impressive 76% rate.  I still don't buy the whole "system quarterback" argument and probably never will with this kid.

South Florida - Completing the "upset" of Auburn, IN AUBURN!!  Now, I don't consider this a MAJOR upset, because people were picking South Florida to win this game all week, but I do consider it a very big boost to this program and maybe they will start getting some extra recognition in that competitive Big East Conference.  AND YES, IT IS COMPETITIVE.

Michigan and Notre Dame - I am extremely happy to see these two teams WINLESS.  While I just plain HATE Notre Dame, I dislike Michigan at a pretty high rate.  Will this weekend's match up even be worth watching?

Dennis Dixon - The Oregon quarterback that torched the Michigan defense was so fun to watch.  Just think, Mike Bellotti almost took away his scholarship for wanting to play baseball this summer for the Atlanta Braves.

Indiana University - I am happy to see the team moving in a positive direction this season.  It is a very importantseason for them.  With losing Coach Hoeppner, the team has to make an new identity and this is the way to do it, by winning.

Cal - My pick to win it all this year came away with a victory in a game that they struggled. Heisman hopeful, DeSean Jackson now has 284 all-purpose yards in two games.  Do yourself a favor and watch that YouTube clip!

Air Force - UNDEFEATED!  Off to a 2 - 0 start under a new coach, using a new offense.  With wins against South Carolina State (blah) and Utah (hell yes), Air Force has shown they can win on the ground or through the air.

I'll just thank God that I didn't get into a fight while watching college football.

I hope that you are wrong about that.

I know he isn't going to be Peyton Manning or Carson Palmer, but I definitely see him as being a Marc Bulger type. Sit for a few years, then come in and be a very good quarterback.
