The first weekend of NFL action is wrapping up tonight! A lot of close games so far. I'm not sure if it was just the first week bugs getting worked out or if the teams were matched up that well.
Each week, I am going to be looking at the top five rookies for the week. Let us take a look!
Calvin Johnson - My offensive Rookie of the Year pick had a solid first game. The 2nd pick had 70 yards on 4 catches, including a 16 yard touchdown reception.
Adrian Peterson - Well, the job is his it looks like. Didn't take long. 19 carries for 103 yards and 1 catch for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Marshawn Lynch - 19 carries, 90 yards and a score on the ground. Two catches for 9 yards. Solid debut.
Mason Crosby - Who? The Green Bay rookie kicker singlehandedly won the game for the Pack. Three field goals, including the game winner with two seconds on the clock, were pretty much the whole offensive arsenal.
Brandon Jackson - Green Bay has a ton of youth on the team this year. This young running back had 75 total yards on 19 touches.
ON A SERIOUS NOTE: I would like to extend my best wishes to Kevin Everett. For those of you that don't know or didn't hear by now, he suffered a spinal cord injury in yesterday's action and had to have emergency surgery. Good luck in a successful, hopefully full, recovery. This is just a very unfortunate part of a game that I love.
