Week two is wrapping up this evening and I must say that the rookies have been solid so far this season.  On defense, a couple guys have stepped it up, while on offense I'd say it is a two man race for the Rookie of the Year.  Here is my top five for the week:

Adrian Peterson:  20 carries 66 yards and 4 catches for 52 yards in a battle of the top two offensive rookies.  Mr. Peterson now leads all rookies in total yards this year.

Calvin Johnson:  4 catches for 61 yards and a score, while also getting 1 carry for 7 yards.  Detroit also got the win 20-17, to improve to 2-0. He leads all rookies in receiving yards, 19 ahead of Mr. Peterson.

Green Bay Rookies:  Again, the Packers youth has paid off big and moved Green Bay to 2-0.  DeShawn Wynn had 10 carries for 50 yards and 2 TD, while making 2 receptions for 18 yards.  James Jones also came up big hauling in 4 passes for 75 yards.  Mason Crosby added 5 more extra points, but did miss his only field goal attempt of the game.

Buffalo Rookies:  The Bills have some nice young players as well.  The player I coveted in the past draft, Paul Posluszny, ended the game with 12 total tackles to increase his total to 22 in two games.  Marshawn Lynch did not have as good a game as he did in the opener, but still came away with 64 yards rushing on 18 carries and had 1 catch for 21 yards.  Lynch is second in rushing (rookies) behind Mr. Peterson.

Amobi Okoye:  The young defensive tackle for the Texans recorded the first two sacks of his professional career.  Maybe the Texans front office knew what it was doing  after all?  We will wait and see, but for now, the Texans are 2-0.
