I found this pretty interesting article on Yahoo! The writer explains the way he would run the playoffs for the BCS division.
I am against a tournament of this style. 16 teams really doesn't seem like enough. Maybe expand it to 24 or 32. 16 just seems to leave out some teams that deserve to be in the playoff, and would make it more interesting. Everyone wants a "cinderella" team to win.
OR....just leave it the way it is. Let everyone play their bowl games. If a playoff is needed to determine a final champ, let them play it out. The winners of the two big bowl games should play for the Championship. Maybe seed the 1 vs 4 and the 2 vs 3, then the winners play.
OR....just leave everything alone and let the system continue to be how it is.
