brennenhair.jpgSo much turkey, so much football, so little time.  Let's see what happened.

*  No picks this for this past weekend, too much going on.

*  Houston Nutt coaches Arkansas to a victory over LSU, after reports of him being fired at the end of the season.  He then rejects their two year extension and is hired by Ole Miss.  What a weekend for that guy.  I hope he beats Arkansas every game they play against each other.  The Razorbacks poorly handled this situation.

*  Hawaii is the only remaining unbeaten in the BCS division.  One opponent left, Washington Huskies.

*  Tim Tebow has a broken hand, will he be his normal self come bowl season?

*  Speaking of Hawaii and Florida, Colt Brennan and Tim Tebow should be the top two Heisman candidates, in my opinion.  If Missouri beats Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship, then I would say Chase Daniel deserves a lot of attention as well.

*  I hope that coaching changes (Michigan, Arkansas, Texas A&M, etc) don't get in the way of the Bowl Season.

*  Speaking of Bowl Season, check out the current projections!

Nutt really dicked over Arkansas with a bunch of their recruits. Remember Mitch Mustain and a few of their other fabulous freshman from last season had major complains because Nutt didn't follow through on what he said he was going to do. Him leaving like this, and leaving them hanging, is just another chapter of his sad story in Arkansas. I'm not sure how the university is at fault when they offered him a multi-year deal. Maybe you know more about it than I do though.

As for Brennan...come on, he had a better year in 2006.

Nutt was going to be "fired" at the end of the season. That was reported early last week. Then after they won, he was given an extension. I know that he isn't completely innocent in this, but the boosters and the administration have been pretty shady as well.

Brennan might have had a better statistical year last year, but his team is undefeated and he is only 8 total touchdowns behind Tebow, while playing three less games. He is definitely deserving of an invite to New York.

He'll be top 5 in this weak field, so he'll be in NY.

They were going to fire Nutt like three years ago....they were going to fire him last year when his recruits left. He did it the wrong way.

If I were a booster I'd be pissed too if all the top recruits (including one of the top QB recruits in the nation) left.

I agree about the recruits. He even hired their high school coach as the offensive coordinator to get them to come. Mustain will be stuck behind Sanchez next season at USC and Williams will be stuck behind the glut of receivers as well.

They probably should have gone somewhere else in the beginning if they wanted to play their style of offense.

Well, when a guy hires your high school coach to take care of the offense at the college you are going to I think you can kind of expect it to be suited to you (the recruit)
