I decided that I am going to post this picture every game the Pacers lose. That is basically the way I felt last night after they lost again. This time, to the Washington Wizards, who were 1 - 5 on the season.
Again, poor shooting killed the team. They shot only 39% from the field. They rebounded well, kept their turnovers down (15), played nice defense (7 steals, 6 blocks), and made their free throws (16 - 19). The first quarter pretty much sealed the deal, as they were down by 13 at the end of the quarter. 15 points is all they could put up.
Marquis Daniels came back from his knee injury and played 32 minutes. He lead the team with 19 points. The organization said that Daniels is going to be only playing in "hand picked" games until he is fully healed. Great, we have another Scott Pollard on our hands. This is the same treatment he had when he was on the team.
Gilbert Arenas led Washington with 30 points and 11 assists. Brendan Haywood added 16 points and 11 boards, while Caron Butler had 25 points.
Player of the Game: Jeff Foster - 14 rebounds and 4 points. He finally got his due minutes. If Murphy was not on the team, Foster would be grabbing double digit boards every single night.
Fun Fact: Indiana has not had their whole team healthy for one game yet this season!
Record: 3 - 5
Next Game: Friday, 11 / 16 @ Toronto (4 - 4) TV: Fox Sports Indiana / NBA League Pass
