Last time I posted, Indiana had just lost to the Los Angeles Lakers by giving up 134 points. They played three games over the holiday weekend, so let me get you caught up.
New Orleans Hornets - Indiana traveled to The Big Easy on Wednesday night. The game was the first of what looks like several without Jermaine O'Neal. Troy Murphy stepped in for O'Neal and played quite well. He finished the game with 23 points and nine rebounds. Jeff Foster continued to hustle on the boards and finished with 13 of them. Jamal Tinsley continued his impressive play with 18 points and 13 assists, while only committing two turnovers. Indiana only committed seven turnovers as a team and shot 46% from the field for the game. Final Score: Pacers 105 - Hornets 93
Dallas Mavericks - Fresh off of Thanksgiving, Dallas traveled into Indianapolis for a little Friday night fun fest. The Pacers controlled most of the game, with Dallas constantly nipping at their heels. Indiana had an 11 point lead at the end of the first half and then Dallas cut that lead to three points going into the fourth quarter. However, Indiana was able to hold onto a lead for once and ended up winning 111 to 107. Danny Granger led Indiana with 25 points. His sixth 20 point effort so far this season. He had 12 all of last year, so it is a good sign to see him taking control of things on the offensive end of the court. Jamal Tinsley came through with 24 points of his own.
Cleveland Cavaliers - Sunday concluded a busy weekend for the Pacers and myself. Indiana was gunning for their third straight win, while playing without Jermaine O'Neal for the third straight game. Jamal Tinsley came close to a triple double, as he finished with 24 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds. He also committed eight turnovers, which didn't help us out down the stretch. LeBron James finished with his own triple double for Cleveland. In the end, Indiana coughed up the fourth quarter lead and lost by five points. Final Score: Indiana 106 - Cleveland 111.
Record: 6 - 8 (10th in the Eastern Conference)
Fun Fact: Stephen Graham is averaging 64 points and 16 rebounds per 48 minutes!
Next Game: Tonight at 9pm est @ Denver TV: Fox Sports Indiana / NBA League Pass
* Since Indiana lost its last game, I'll post the Dunleavy picture.
