Well, the game was played last night, but I had to work from 7am to 9pm today, so I am just now getting to write my recap of the game, as I saw it.

pacer6er.jpgIndiana came in winners of two in a row, trying to make it a real streak of three games.  Philadelphia came in having won 5 of their last 6 games.  Like I mentioned before, Indiana always seems to have problems with the 76ers, and Wednesday night was no different...for a while.

Indiana played without starting point guard Jamal Tinsley due to a deep thigh bruise, so Indianapolis native, Andre Owens stepped into take over the point guard duties.  Both teams couldn't miss at the beginning and Philly took an early lead.  Seemed like they would get it to 4 or 5 points, then Indiana would cut it to 1 or tie it, then back up.  Back and forth it went for the first half.  Indiana ended up leading by three at the break.  Then, in the second half, Marquis Daniels caught fire.  The backup combo guard checked into the game because Andre Owens cut his hand.  This was a good thing for Indiana, Daniels finished with 26 points in 33 minutes off the bench.  I thought it was a positive sign that Indiana could function without their starting point guard, for at least one game.  I don't want to make it an every game occurrence.

I agree with Brian, several blown calls or no-calls in this one.  I think there was a series of three trips in a row for both teams that there should have been at least four fouls called.  There was also a span that last about 3 minutes in which the game stopped every 76ers offensive possession...mostly fouls on Jeff Foster, who was looking like a target for the refs at the time.

At the end of the night, Indiana won 102-85, but there was a ton of room for improvement.  Indiana was out-rebounded 55 to 39, including 16 from Reggie Evans.  I'm surprised he only had 16, because with 6:30 left in the THIRD QUARTER, he had that many.  But, when Jeff Foster is picking fouls quicker than Pacman Jones picks up court dates and David Harrison is suffering from back spasms from sitting too much on the bench, you can't expect Troy Murphy to block out one of the leagues best on the glass.

*  Side note - I thought it was hilarious watching Willie Green throw a pass off the backboard....maybe he should work on that lob a little in practice!

**  Side note two - Quinn Buckner, Pacers announcer, never completes a thought or a sentence.  He also throws a lot of "OH" and "GET IN THERE" and, one of my favorites "HE CAN DO THAT!" into the middle of his partners commentary.

Indiana is now 14 - 12 and travel to Minnesota to take on the T-Wolves Friday night.  Another game that Indiana should win.
