By now, we all know that Miami sucks and New England is very good. We all know that Brett Favre is playing out of his mind and that T.O. is out of his mind when it comes to celebrating. But, did you know that 20 teams are sitting at .500 or worse? 16 teams are below .500!!
I've taken the time to analyze the 10 most loserly (made up word) teams and predict who I think they would draft if the draft was to happen today. I am also just going to include the senior class as of now, since we don't know which underclassmen are going to be in the draft.
Miami Dolphins - Miami has a lot of holes to fill, but I think the biggest need is help on the defensive line. With no real run stopper on the front four, that is a major need. They could go with an offensive lineman to help increase the protection for whoever their next quarterback could be and to help open up more space for Ronnie Brown when he comes back. The Pick: Glenn Dorsey, DT (LSU)
Atlanta Falcons - Again, this is a team with a lot of needs. Who is the quarterback next season? Is Norwood really going to replace Dunn? How much more does Dunn have left in his tank? How solid is this offensive line? Is DeAngelo Hall going to be traded in the off season? Is Petrino really set on drafting a quarterback or will he rely on a free agent or trade? I'm going to say this team has a long couple months heading into the draft. The Pick: Brian Brohm, QB (Louisville)
St. Louis Rams - Who would have pictured St. Louis with the third pick in the draft? Not me! I think that St. Louis is in a bit of trouble as they have gotten very old, very fast. The loss of Orlando Pace this season has been a huge burden on this team. I think they will look to beef up that line. The Pick: Jake Long, OT (Michigan)
New England (from San Fransisco) - CRAP! They don't need this pick. Seriously, the 49ers need to go on a four game winning streak to finish up the season. One of the main issues with New England is the age of their defense, mainly in the linebacking position. The Pick: Dan Connor, LB (Penn State)
New York Jets - What is the quarterback situation going forward? Are they really banking on Kellen Clemens to be the guy they want? I like him, but I am not sure of his future. The defensive line is decent but not great. The offensive line has been a favorite thing to upgrade on the past couple draft days. The Pick: Chris Long, DE (UVA)
Baltimore Ravens - This team has to upgrade its offense. The defense is getting older, but players can be added through the rest of the draft and free agency. The offense needs a leader. The Pick: Matt Ryan, QB (Boston College)
Kansas City - I'm really not sure what KC would do with this pick. They could go for an offensive lineman, but it would be a bit of a stretch. They could go with a defensive lineman, but the need isn't that great. They could replace one of their aging linebackers or their corners, but again, they would be stretching a little. What happens if they decide Croyle isn't their QB of the future? The Pick: Mike Jenkins, CB (South Florida)
Cincinnati Bengals - This team needs a leader on defense. The futures of Odell Thurman and David Pollack don't look bright right now. The Pick: Ali Highsmith, LB (LSU)
Oakland Raiders - Lane Kiffin seems to have the team heading in the right direction, but how long will it take to get back to the .500 level? The defensive front four is getting older and Warren Sapp is closing in on his last days. The Pick: Sedrick Ellis, DT (USC)
Chicago Bears - Quarterback play is a huge question mark right now. Is McNabb coming to Chicago? Is Grossman still the future? I am going to say no to both of those questions. The Pick: Andre Woodson, QB (Kentucky)

I have heard that Brohm's stock is sinking as well. BUT, Petrino knows him and since it is the same system, I think Petrino would push for the pick here. IF Arthur Blank is smart, they will go with McFadden. Remember, this is just seniors on this list. McFadden would have to be top three in this draft in my opinion.

I disagree about Cincy, I think Landon Johnson (yes out of Purdue) has been great at middle backer. I believe they already intend to start him at mike next year. I think they could use defensive line as much as anything.
I don't know. 82 total tackles and 1 sack doesn't cut it for me. Especially coming from the "leader" of the defense. Look at what Patrick Willis is doing. He has more solo tackles than Johnson has total tackles...I'd go with a guy that knows how to lead and a guy that is in that role now, which is why I went with Highsmith.

Ah, there is nothing i love more then the NFL Draft. I'm working on a mock draft that i should have up by Friday. I agree alot with what you say here, but i've heard Brohm's stock is sinking a bit. Could Atlanta land him in the second round, or is he an elite prospect? Also, i have nightmares of the Pats landing Big Papa Dorsey or D-Mac, though i fear it may happen.
