gasol-copa-oro.jpgThe Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a trade.  The Lakers will be acquiring Pau Gasol and a future second round pick for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittendon, the rights to Aaron McKie (sign and trade to make the math right), the rights to Marc Gasol (Pau's brother), and the Lakers 2008 and 20010 draft picks.

Los Angeles has loaded up their front court with this acquisition.  When Andrew Bynum comes back, he will match-up with Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol.  I'm not sure what kind of role Gasol will play considering the Lakers play the triangle offense and Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant get about 90% of the touches.

Memphis has freed up their wallets for next season, as Kwame Brown's contract will be coming off the books at the end of the season.  Javaris Crittendon is another young guard that goes along with Mike Conley Jr, Kyle Lowry, and Juan Carlos Navarro.

Memphis also pulled off a second deal on the day.  New Jersey agreed to send Jason Collins to Memphis for Stromile Swift.  Swift immediately improves the athletic ability of the front court.  He will be a free agent at the end of this season.
