I was watching ESPN earlier and I heard someone mention that Ray Allen was snubbed from the All-Star team. The argument was that he is averaging 18 points a game. My response...so?? If Ray Allen deserves to be an All-Star this season, then Mike Dunleavy deserves to be an All-Star starter. I hear you laughing, so let me break it down for you.
Ray Allen's stats:
18.2 ppg
4 rpg
2.9 apg
42% fg
37% 3p
92% ft
Mike Dunleavy's stats:
17.8 ppg
5.9 rpg
3.3 apg
49% fg
41% 3p
85.9% ft
Looking at the stats, Dunleavy and Allen are just about equal in points, but Dunleavy leads in all other stats except free throw percentage. I know the reserves are chosen by the coaches, so I don't imagine they would go by team wins when picking their reserves. Next time you hear someone say that Ray Allen was snubbed from the All-Star, and they are serious, maybe you can throw this knowledge back at them. Who knows, maybe Dunleavy got snubbed!?!
