Since I am stuck up at my base and the government blocks a lot of the bracket websites (along with anything that is fantasy related or just plain fun), I will be breaking down my brackets by region. I'll give you the East and Midwest today and the South and West tomorrow. I'm not really worried about the play-in game tonight, because all that does is figure out who North Carolina gets to run over later in the week. I won't put the seeds on the teams, because I'm sure you've at least seen the brackets a million times, even if you live under a rock. Here are the picks:
Round One:
North Carolina - Coppin St / Mt. St. Mary's - Like I said, doesn't matter the winner of the play-in game, UNC rolls big.
Indiana - Arkansas - It is a shame that DJ White has improved his game to an All-American level when he is surrounded by immature kids that think they are owed something by the world. IU is mentally weak. Arkansas will win.
Notre Dame - George Mason - Luke Harangody. Enough said.
Washington State - Winthrop - I don't see Winthrop upsetting the Cougars.
Oklahoma - Saint Joseph's - It seems that Saint Joseph's is a team that has an increasingly large backing. With Oklahoma's injuries to Blake Griffin and Longar Longar, I am jumping on the SJ Bandwagon as well.
Louisville - Boise State - Boise State is trying to pull off another trick play and beat Louisville, but Rick Pitino is a veteran at this and will have Louisville rolling into round two.
Butler - South Alabama - Could be a dangerous trap game for Butler, but with four seniors starting, the Bulldogs roll and gain momentum for round two.
Tennessee - American - What's more American than a team named American? I'm all about loving this country, but I can't even pick them to beat the state of Tennessee in a game of basketball.
Round Two:
UNC - Arkansas - Psycho T and his crew run the wheels off the Arkansas vehicle.
Notre Dame - Washington State - Luke Harangody. Enough Said.
Saint Joseph's - Louisville - Good coaching match between Martelli and Pitino. Louisville is too strong down low in the end.
Butler - Tennessee - I feel that Butler is the superior team here and will beat the Vols.
Sweet Sixteen:
UNC - Notre Dame - The big men meet. Harangody vs Hansbrough. Two All-Americans battling it out. UNC has the better supporting cast and UNC heads on.
Louisville - Butler - Who needs coaching experience when you have AJ Graves and Mike Green leading your attack? Butler moves into the Elite Eight.
Elite Eight:
UNC - Butler - I think that Butler can beat the Tarheels. I think that the experience and poise that the Bulldogs have can outlast UNC's explosiveness. However, in the end, I see the Tarheels advancing to the Final Four.
