I gave you my East Region breakdown earlier and now I am going to give you my Midwest Region breakdown. There are a few darkhorses here, but one team will dominate this region.
Round One:
Kansas - Portland State - I don't even think a miracle will help Portland State in this game. Kansas big.
UNLV - Kent State - Lon Kruger will have his team focused and ready to roll. Rebels win.
Clemson - Villanova - I like both of these teams, but someone has to win. If the game comes down to free throws, Villanova will win it. I look for Clemson to put it away early in the second half.
Vanderbilt - Siena - The Commodores and the Saints. Sounds like some good ol' fashion music. Should be a good game between two solid teams. I'm taking Vandy.
USC - Kansas State - OJ Mayo vs Michael Beasley, what a match up. Don't be surprised while you are waiting for the two stars to take over if Davon Jefferson and Bill Walker control the outcome of the game. I'm taking K-State.
Wisconsin - CSU Fullerton - If this were the College Baseball World Series, I'd take CSUF. Since it's not, I'm going with Wisconsin, who should slowly grind them into submission.
Gonzaga - Davidson - This is quickly becoming the game I want to watch the most in the first round. I like the Zags, but I'm going with Davidson.
Georgetown - UMBC - Not even a contest, Hoyas roll.
Round Two:
Kansas - UNLV - Kansas could get tripped up here, but Bill Self is about as good of a coach as they come. Kansas continues to win.
Clemson - Vanderbilt - I really like how these two teams lineup against each other. I'm taking Vanderbilt in this one.
Kansas State - Wisconsin - The Badgers don't play anyone nearly as good as Beasley is on the blocks. They will have a hard time handling him and consequently will fall. K-State wins again.
Davidson - Georgetown - I really want to pick Davidson in this game, but I am trying to be practical. I think Georgetown will win it.
Sweet Sixteen:
Kansas - Vanderbilt - Another tough game for the Jayhawks, but they will fight through and head into the Elite Eight.
Kansas State - Georgetown - The Hoyas have an easier time containing Beasley and stop the Wildcats from an Elite Eight match up (and third game) against the Jayhawks.
Elite Eight:
Kansas - Georgetown: This is where the Hoyas' ride stops. Kansas is too good of a team to not win this region. In the end, Kansas wins and will face North Carolina in the Final Four.
