clee2.jpgI am growing anxious to see the games start tomorrow.  I'll be in front of my TV the whole weekend, eating ham, deviled eggs, green bean casserole, and numerous other things, while spending time with my family.  Good times for all involved.  This bracket has a lot of Indiana feel to it.  Of course there is Purdue (West Lafayette, IN), Baylor's coach Scott Drew (Valparaiso area), Xavier's Stanley Burrell and Joe Hughes (Indianapolis), Western Kentucky's Courtney Lee (Indianapolis), and Belmont's Jordan Campbell (Indianapolis).  Good luck to all of those involved!  Let's get to the picks.

Round One:

UCLA - Mississippi Valley State - Why do I still have to spell it M-I-SS-I-SS-I-PP-I in my head everytime I type it?  Well, at least this is the last time I'll have to type it in the near future.  UCLA wins.

BYU - Texas A&M - The Aggies are so hard to predict this season and that is why I am going with a solid, under-the-radar team in BYU.

Drake - Western Kentucky - I am taking WKU in this one, because I would like to see Courtney Lee extend his college career a bit longer.

Connecticut - San Diego - USD scares me a little after knocking off St. Mary's and Gonzaga on consecutive nights.  BUT, it's a been a while since they have played, so I am sure their hot hands have cooled off a bit.  UConn moves on.

Purdue - Baylor - Two up and comers in the coaching ranks square off against each other.  Can Matt Painter guide his Boilermakers to the win?  Will all of Scott Drew's hard work of recruiting finally pay off?  I am going with Baylor in this one.

Xavier - Georgia - How Georgia got in was amazing.  Winning three games in 30 hours is a tough task.  Xavier was mad going into the A-10 tourney and then got knocked off.  Maybe they have their emotions under control this time around.  I'm taking the Musketeers.

West Virginia - Arizona - Going with my yearly Arizona pick.

Duke - Belmont - I would like nothing more than to see Duke get beat, but it won't happen this round.

xman.jpgRound Two:

UCLA - BYU - Could be an upset sleeper waiting to happen.  I don't think it will, but it could....UCLA moves past the Cougars.

Western Kentucky - UConn - This could turn into a track meet.  Huskies prove to be too much.

Baylor - Xavier - I like Xavier's unselfishness with the ball and their tough defensive style.  Xavier moves to the Sweet 16.

Arizona - Duke - I want to pick Arizona.  My heart and my gut tell me to pick them.  But, I've been burned more by Arizona than a $5 prostitute.  Duke wins, sadly.

Sweet Sixteen:

UCLA - UCONN - Jim Calhoun can't spit out the winning play in time because he is stuttering uncontrollably.  UCLA squeaks by and advances to the Elite Eight.

Xavier - Duke - They need to bring back the old Bud Light commercials with "You're Coach K?"  "Yes I am"  Duke takes on UCLA in the next round.

Elite Eight:

UCLA - Duke - Duke has the edge on coaching.  UCLA has the talent.  I don't think Duke has anyone that can contain UCLA's big men.  I'm taking UCLA to win this one and head to the Final Four for a date with Pittsburgh.
