TigerWoods.jpgToday marks the start of the Masters Tournament.  Zach Johnson will be trying to repeat as Tournament Champion, but Tiger Woods has his own plans.

Sure, Lefty and Ernie will be there.  Vijay and Retief will be there as well.  Sergio might even bring his "A" game with him.  But, can anyone truly bet against Tiger and feel good about it?

ESPN had their Sunday Conversation with him not too long ago.  I watched the whole thing and when Tiger was speaking, I realized that he doesn't think that he can be beaten.  That is a powerful thing to hold over an opponent in anything you do.  This is what the elite athletes have in them that the others don't.  They have the drive, the will, and they can not be broke of it.  Their confidence sometimes borders to cockiness, but I didn't see that with Tiger.

He was asked a question about whether he would rather have 100 wins or 19 Majors.  He said 19.  The next question was "stay at 16 or have 100 wins?"  He said "19."  He was then asked "Jack Nicklaus or Tiger Woods?"  And he sat for a second and then said "Tiger Woods."  I was waiting for him to give the good sportsmanship answer by saying Jack Nicklaus, but then I realized that he is right.  He is better than Jack Nickalus.  That isn't a shot at the him at all.  He then followed up his answer with, "You have to believe in yourself, don't you?"  There's that sportmanship answer I was looking for.  Either way, Tiger is on a mission to win.  I don't know that anyone can knock him off his game right now.

I'll be watching the Tournament unfold while at work and then I will watch tonight when I get home.  I'm taking Tiger, you can have the rest of the field if you want.
