Actually, you can say this with a lot of athletes these days.  I am a fan of shorter hair, except on females.

Why is it that long hair bothers me?  I don't know, maybe it is because it usually looks dirty and greasy, especially on athletes.  Remember Steve Nash licking his fingers so he could "slick" back the sides of it.  Guess what Steve, if you cut it, you don't have to do that!  Look at Travis Buck's hair.  It looks like a nest of rats could live in it.  Get that crap exterminated Travis!!

But, the player's hair that I have the most beef with right now, is Brian Barton of the St. Louis Cardinals.  Look at the picture to the left.  His helmet doesn't even fit properly due to the amount of hair he is stuffing under there.  HEY, IF YOUR HELMET WON'T STAY ON STRAIGHT, IT IS TIME TO CUT YOUR HAIR!!

Barton is a Rule-5 pick, meaning he has to stay on the Major League roster the whole season or he will be given back to his original team and the Cardinals will have to pay money back.  I would think that if you are an 0-for-15 streak away from being back at your original team, wasting away in the minor leagues, you might try to appear to be a professional. 

Maybe it's just me, but long hair doesn't belong in professional sports.  Call me old fashioned.
