There he is folks. Shawne Williams. The key to the Pacers' success next season.
Williams is playing behind Danny Granger and Mike Dunleavy and will be the Pacers' sixth man going into next season. Williams can play the 2, 3, or 4 spots if needed. With his 6'9, 225lb frame, he can use his length and speed to stifle a drive to the basket or he can use his strength and timing to alter a shot on defense. On offense, he can pull bigger defenders out to the perimeter and either shoot from outside or drive around them. He can also post up smaller defenders when a mismatch is present.
The reason that I think Williams is the key to next season, is because he will be coming into his third year in the league and he knows his role. He can score in a hurry and defend very well, so the Pacers will look to him for leadership with the second unit.
Williams could possibly be the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year next season. He just needs to hit the gym a little harder this summer and come back ready to take over in training camp. He has proven he has the skill set to do what is needed to be successful on the court, now he just needs to get his mindset and maturity level up to par.
