It is official. Both Jerryd Bayless and Chase Budinger are declaring themselves eligible for the NBA Draft.
Bayless is leaving after his freshman year and will hire an agent, which will make him ineligible to return to school if he doesn't get picked. That won't happen though. He will probably be in the top 5 picks. If not, then definitely the top 10. It is the right move for him, but selfishly, I'd like him to stay.
Budinger declared yesterday and he said he will NOT hire an agent. He is leaving two years of eligibility on the table. He looked to be a lottery pick at the beginning of the season, but now his stock has slipped a little and looks to be a late lottery to late first round pick.
I would be thrilled if the Pacers were able to draft either player.
