Yesterday marked the start of pre-draft workouts for the Indiana Pacers. From now until a few days before the draft, players will be coming in and going through all their skills, drills, and competitions. Indiana had six players in yesterday. A couple could be first round picks, the rest seemed to be second round possibilities. Here is who came in yesterday:
- DJ Augustin - PG - Texas
- Ty Lawson - PG - North Carolina
- Stanley Burrell - G/F - Xavier
- Jamar Butler - PG - Ohio State
- Sasha Kaun - C - Kansas
- Aleks Maric - C - Nebraska
Augustin could be the pick at 11. Lawson could be had if Indiana trades back into the late first round. Burrell, Butler, Kaun, and Maric are all second round possibilities.
Today, four more players come in for their workouts:
- Courtney Lee - SG - Western Kentucky
- Wayne Ellington - SG - North Carolina
- Richard Hendrix - PF - Alabama
- Rob Kurz - PF - Notre Dame
Lee and Ellington interest me, because they could be first round picks if the Pacers trade down. Hendrix and Kurz are possible second picks for pick 41.
