I just got done looking at the box score for the Oakland and Texas game today.  Once again, Oakland lost.  That makes the Athletics a miserable 1-7 since the All-Star break and 1-9 in their last 10 games.

With Rich Harden, Joe Blanton, and Chad Gaudin shipped out of town, the pitching staff has been shorthanded to say the least.  The players that the A's received in the trades are not really players that can help Oakland this season, or maybe not even next season for that matter.

The Oakland offense has been non-existent for a while now and seems to be floating in the middle of the ocean with no life raft.  Instead of getting useless players back in those trades, maybe Billy Beane could have swung a deal for some HITTERS!  Matt Murton and Eric Patterson are not the answer.

The A's have gone from only 4 games out of first place to 11 games out and have now fallen to third place in the American League West division.  After the success the A's had in the first half, they look like they are going to have a reversal of fortune in the second half.  I hope they turn it around soon!
