With the college football season coming up on us in a couple of weeks, I wanted to take the time to throw my two cents out there about the madness that will take place.  Let's get right to it:

Best Conference:  I'm going to go with the SEC this season.  Normally, I can't stand to admit that the SEC is good at anything, but I will admit that they are loaded this season.  Georgia, Florida, LSU, Auburn, and Tennessee are all in the top 25 to start the season, with Alabama and South Carolina receiving the most votes outside of the top 25.  The thing that will hurt this conference the most is the fact they beat up on each other in conference play.  I'll take Florida to win the SEC though.

Heisman Winner:  Percy Harvin, WR/RB/Everything, Florida - Harvin had an incredible year last season with over 700 yds rushing and 800 yds receiving.  I look for his rushing yards to decrease some, but he can still do it all in the open field.  Might be the most exciting player in college football this season.

Best Game:  Florida @ Georgia on November 1st should be a great game, maybe even an instant classic, but there is another great one a few weeks before that one.  USC gets to take on Ohio State at USC.  The Trojans will probably run the Buckeyes out of Cali, but if Chris Wells wants to prove he is worthy of the Heisman, he will need a HUGE game.  These two games could determine who will be in the national championship game.

Sleeper Team:  Fresno State Bulldogs could be the latest non-BCS team to make it into one of the big bowls.  I know they are ranked 25th in the pre-season, but with a solid core of 34 seniors, this team has a ton of experience and Pat Hill should be able to coach this team into the top 10 this season.

Sleeper Team (Part 2):  Ball State Cardinals have QB Nate Davis leading this high potent offense.  With WR Dante Love catching everything in sight, BSU should rack up the yards and points.  If the defense can provide some stops from time to time, then you might be looking at the MAC champion in good old Muncie, Indiana.

That is all I have for now.  During the season, I will be providing my picks again and might even start weekly contest or a running contest for the pick em games.  Let me know what you think.
