So Bruce Paine got his way this past April when the Colts selected Mike Hart in the 6th round.  Though Paine had him rated quite a bit higher, the Colts were still able to pull the trigger on him when they felt appropriate.

Hart was a man of many accomplishments throughout his collegiate career.  Out of all of them, I think the most impressive stat of his, was that he started all four years while at Michigan.

He ended his career fourth in all-time rushing yards in the Big Ten.  He also finished 11th in TDs.  Last season, he had nine 100 yard rushing games.

Hart is currently behind Joseph Addai and Dominic Rhodes on the depth chart, so playing time will be scarce this season, if he makes the team.  His best bet of getting guaranteed playing time this season is going to be on special teams.  If he can get a hang of things on special teams, I can see Hart getting some significant reps in the backfield as the season winds down.

So far this preseason, Hart has rushed 11 times for 92 yards and has 5 receptions for 49 yards.  You can definitely see the energy that Hart brings to the team when he is on the field, so hopefully he can take that energy into the regular season.  He is a hard runner and is low to the ground, so he makes it difficult for guys to get low on him for the tackle.

Overall, I could see Hart staying on this team, because of the style of runner he is and the fact that he provides depth at the running back position.
