Thursday marked the kickoff to the start of this college football season and there are a full slate of top 25 games this weekend. So, let me get to the picks!
#1 Georgia vs Georgia Southern - Not really a contest here. Bulldogs might as well have scheduled another practice. This will be a theme the first two weeks of the season as most teams are taking on their cupcakes.
#2 Ohio State vs Youngstown State - See above, replace Bulldogs with Buckeyes!
#3 USC at Virginia - Tough opening game for the Trojans on the road. However, I think they will still win by a couple TDs.
#4 Oklahoma vs Chattanooga - Sam Bradley will start the year off with a big push for Heisman status.
#5 Florida vs Hawaii - The Warriors didn't get to play Michigan last season, but this they got their wish of a big time game this year. Too bad it is in the Swamp. Gators roll.
#6 Missouri vs #20 Illinois - HUGE game to kickoff week 1. I am going to go ahead and Illinios in this match up. I really like the speed that the Illini have started to build up. Should be a great game.
#7 LSU vs Appalachian State - No repeat of last year against Michigan. Tigers big time in this one.
#8 West Virginia vs Villanova - With Rich Rodriguez, Steve Slaton, and Owen Schmitt gone, Noel Devine and Pat White will shoulder the load this season. Should be enough talent to get by Villanova.
#9 Clemson vs #24 Alabama - Another HUGE game for the weekend. I am going to take the Tigers at home against the Crimson Tide.
#10 Auburn vs Louisiana Monroe - Possible trap game for the Tigers, but in the end, Auburn will be victorious.
#11 Texas vs Florida Atlantic - I'm starting to wonder why match ups like these are even made. Longhorns in this one.
#12 Texas Tech vs Eastern Washington - Will Tech ever get to the century mark? Could be the day.
#13 Wisconsin vs Akron - Akron is a little underrated, but against Wisconsin, they don't really stand a chance.
#14 Kansas vs Florida International - Can the Jayhawks keep last season's success rolling? Looks like it will happen today.
#15 Arizona State vs Northern Arizona - Sun Devils should burn up the Lumberjacks.
#16 BYU vs Northern Iowa - The Cougars want to be the next non-BCS school in a BCS bowl game. Their quest starts today.
#17 Virginia Tech at East Carolina - Sean Glennon is the starter now, so he has to prove the coaches right. Hokies pull it out at ECU.
#18 Tennessee at UCLA - Another season, another big game to start off for the Vols. I am taking the Bruins in an upset to start the season.
#19 South Florida vs Tennessee-Martin - The Bulls got off to a fast start last season. This season looks like more of the same.
#21 Oregon vs Washington - The Ducks have lost their starting QB for a second season in a row. Good thing this one is in Euguene. I'll take the Ducks.
#22 Penn State vs Coastal Carolina - Not even offseason distractions can stop the Nittany Lions in this one.
#25 Pittsburgh vs Bowling Green - Panthers are rated? They will stay rated next week with the win this week.
