With the drama that is the Brett Favre saga, I have come to tire of the situation.  Both sides are trying to save face with the "he said, they said" battle.  Roger Goodell is twiddling his thumbs hoping Pacman Jones or Chris Henry get into some more trouble so he can deal with them instead of babysitting this Baby Huey of a mess.  If someone on either side would just make a decision not based on stubborness or money, then we could have a resolution.

If it really isn't about the money for Brett Favre, then he should take that 20 million offer to stay retired and wipe his butt with it and stick it to Mark Murphy's windshield.  Then, he should offer Green Bay half of this year's salary to release him.  That would definitely get some people on Favre's side and possibly get this crazy train to pull over.

Now, assuming he is going to play for someone else, where will that be?  I have read the reports of Tampa Bay and the New York Jets, with the rumors of possibly Chicago or Minnesota, but I have to think a few other teams should throw their name in the hat as well.

I wouldn't mind seeing BF playing his final season(s) in Kansas City, ala Joe Montana.  The fans would certainly love him, Brodie Croyle could learn from a real pro quarterback, and the Chiefs might actually have a shot at winning their division.  The Chiefs are similar to the Packers in that they have a very young team and the defense has been the focal point of the last few drafts.  KC has some nice young receivers with Dwayne Bowe leading the way.

Another team that could use Favre is San Francisco.  Clearly, Alex Smith has not panned out quite the way the 49ers had hoped.  Every year they have said, "now he has some offensive help."  And every year, that "help" has done a whole lot of nothing.  However, the defense is improving at a rapid rate and could be good enough to win the division if a quarterback of Favre's caliber were to lead the team.

As far as the Packers wanting a 1st round pick for BF, that is just ridiculous.  Randy Moss was traded for a 4th rounder.  Jason Taylor was just traded for a 2nd and a 6th and those aren't even in the same draft.  GB needs to suck it up and take a 2nd and a 4th or 5th, or perhaps even two 2nd rounders in consecutive drafts.  That all seems reasonable to me.

Some things are just easier said than done I suppose.
