Abrahamian was quoted as saying, "I don't care about this medal. I wanted gold." He followed that up with, "This will be my last match. I wanted gold, so I consider this Olympics a failure."
Very nicely put. A failure indeed Mr. Abrahamian. You didn't fail when you took the bronze, but you certainly did when you acted like a seven year old that just lost at Candy Land. Not only did you look stupid in your little "protest", you also disrespected the other medalists during the ceremony, the other competitors in your class, the judges, the officials, and basically however many millions of viewers world-wide that are watching the Olympics. The failure was your classless attitude in not getting what you wanted. How about instead of acting like you deserve the gold, you go out and win it next time. How about you quit complaining about "politics" in the Olympics and go out and beat your opponent so badly, that the match is unquestionably yours to win. Or, how about you quit disgracing the Olympic games with your presence and never show your face in your sport again. I know you said that you were quitting, but I'm sure that was just the pouting, little boy inside of you talking.
Quitting in the Olympics, what a tool. I hope the Swedes issue a statement renouncing Ara Abrahamian from their country. How's that for neutral?

It looks as though the IOC has taken away his medal and disqualified him. Good for them!
I think his mom disowned him as well for being such a crybaby!
Greco roman is essentially wrestling that bars holds below the waste. As a consequence a significant part of the scoring consists of throws and pins. Abrahamian's argument has to do with how a point was awarded on the mat. Like in most grappling sports, part of the mat is listed as out of bounds and your relationship with that area can effect the score. Abrahamian's argument is legit. The perimeter judge arbitrarily changed his ruling in the awarding of a point for no good reason that I could see. Abrahamian's reaction is childish, I admit, but the refusal of the judges to address the score change was arrogant and ridiculous. It cost a guy his life's dream.

Will be interesting to see what comes of the investigation in this matter. The Yahoo article I read was sort of vague in its description of his complaint. I'm not sure how Greco-Roman is judged, so I don't know how much an official or judge could influence the outcome without being blatantly obvious. That said though, if he really wanted to make his point he should have ignored the pleas from his teammates and sat out the bronze medal match in protest of the semifinal loss instead of continuing to compete and then making an ass out of himself and his country during the medal presentation.
