I didn't get to do my picks before I left for my base for the weekend, but I did get to keep a close eye on most of the college action on Saturday. Here is a recap of what I saw:
Knowshon Moreno just might be the real deal. 168 yards on 18 carries and a career-high 3 TDs helped Georgia put a beating on Central Michigan. However, the Bulldogs stay at number 2 in the polls this week.
East Carolina pulls off upset of the year part deux against West Virginia. They should thank their Athletic Director, as both games were at home! What do they get for their hardwork? How about jumping into the top 25, settling in at 14!
BYU survives a scare from Washington. If it weren't for a dumb penalty, the game could have gone into overtime and Max Hall would have added to his 338 passing yards. In two games, Hall has thrown for 824 yards and 5 touchdowns. I think he will be jumping into plenty of Heisman conversations this season.
Michigan barely escapes against Miami, Ohio. Rich Rodriguez is going to have his hands full come Big Ten play.
Notre Dame also had a hard time against San Diego State. The Aztecs had the Irish on the ropes, but couldn't deliver the knock out punch. If Ryan Lindley could have completed more than 29 out of the 59 passes he threw, the Irish would not have stood a chance!
Air Force and Indiana both improve to 2-0 on the season! Both teams with impressive rushing numbers over the weekend. Air Force ended up with 261 yards and Indiana finished with 254 yards on the ground. If you run like that, time of possession is your friend!
This week, I will have the picks back up, so stop back later this week for those.
