I should have known the game would go the way it did.  Week one started off weird and stayed that way long enough for the Colts to get thwacked by the DAMN BEARS.

First, I sat Donovan McNabb on my fantasy team because I wanted to see how the Eagles' passing game would look.  AND, 360 yards later, I am cussing at myself for the decision.

Then, I get the news that Tom Brady is injured in the first quarter against the Chiefs, not Chefs, and now I'm reading that he could be out for the year.  I would say this is good news, but I don't wish injuries on others, even if it is Tom Brady and football's version of the Evil Empire.

Go ahead and throw in Carolina's last second victory, both Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco won their first starts, Michael Turner ran for 220 yards, Vince Young got injured, Reggie Bush's ridiculous ankle breaker, and Dan Patrick is with Keith Olbermann again?  I'm so confused to start the season.

That brings me to this evening.  Peyton Manning was starting after missing the whole preseason and the team had some injury questions, so who knew what was to be expected.  Well, actually, I knew I wasn't expecting what happened.  29-13?  You kidding me?

The Colts shot themselves in the foot and when they didn't Chicago did a nice job of causing chaos for Indy.  Manning did indeed look rusty, Dallas Clark left the game injured, Joseph Addai left injured (though the team only had 25 rushing yards total), Marvin Harrison coughed up a TD for the Bears, the offensive line looked spotty, the defense was over confident and under performed, and to top it all off, THE COLTS LOST 29-13 TO THE BEARS.  As The Chief said in a text to me after the game, "What a mess of a week 1."  What a mess indeed.

Brutal, still in shock. Haven't seen line look so bad since that Playoff loss to Pittsburgh. Interior defense was horrifying. They put a lineman on Brackett every play, that means nobody drew a double team. How miserable is that?

The whole time I just sat there and thought, "Ok, this is the possession they get it turned around." It never happened. I'll be interested in how the run game is against Minnesota this next week.
