After choking away Game 5, the Rays had to claw their way to the Game 7 victory.  I could only watch until the 5th inning until my flu got the best of me and I had to go lay in bed.

With a few texts from Kelper, I was able to get a glimpse of what was going on in the later innings of the game.  Unfortunately through texting, you don't really get the same excitement or emotion that you would get by watching or even listening to the game, but I was still able to keep up with what was going on.

I can't imagine the excitement that the cities of St. Petersburg and Tampa are feeling right now.  My mother used to live in St. Pete and I when I would visit her, I would try and catch a game if they were in town, but the product on the field was nothing close to what they have now.  A couple summers ago, a friend of mine and I took a trip to St. Pete and we took in a few games with a couple friends from high school that live in the area.  The atmosphere was a whole lot better than the early years and The Trop just seemed to be a little more alive.

One of my friends, Rays in the East, still lives in the area and if he doesn't go to the games, he definitely watches them closely.  I'm trying to get him to maybe give me a write up of what it is like down there in the Bay area right now and what it is like to have seen his team go from literally worst to first in just a few short years.

I personally, will be rooting for Tampa Bay in the World Series.  The pitching should be the key with all of the talented hitters in both lineups, which is usually the way it is in the playoffs...pitching wins.  I actually wouldn't mind seeing seven more games of baseball to end this season.

Of course, only if the Rays win in Game 7!
