The Colts pulled out a close one last night, but it didn't really feel all that satisfying to me.  New England came into town for a nationally televised showdown and I was left feeling...bleh.  Normally after a win, I take some joy in it, some sort of fulfillment, but not this time.

Why is that?  Maybe it is because I was expecting a lot more against the Patriots.  This normally heated rivalry has lost its luster this season.  With Tom Brady being injured and the Colts not playing up to their full potential, I felt like I was watching the Bears and Lions again.  It was a game that meant nothing to me in the end.

Indianapolis really needs to step on the gas a little and start to pick up some speed if they want to make the playoffs this season.  Jacksonville and Houston both gave Indy a break by losing yesterday and Tennessee now has a four game lead on the Colts and Jags, and a five game lead over Houston.

The run game was terrible last night.  Joseph Addai came back from his injury and provided a huge spark (sarcasm) with 32 yards on 17 carries...WOW!  On the night, Indy ran for 47 yards on 21 total carries.  On top of the crap run game on offense, they allowed Kevin Faulk and a guy with four names to run for 117 yards combined.  By night's end, a total of 140 yards on 32 carries is what the Patriots gained.

Peyton looked a little more comfortable in the pocket and maybe he was, considering New England managed not to sack him the whole night.  Manning completed 21 of 29 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns to Anthony Gonzalez.  Of his 21 completions, 17 were to Gonzalez, Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, and Dallas Clark.  If this team wants to have continued success, then that number needs to be 20-25 a game.

Hmmm...what else...am I the only person that is getting tired of watching our guys dive to the ground after catching the ball?  It is ridiculously stupid and getting very annoying to see on every catch.  I don't think anyone in the receiving corps has heard of "yards after the catch"...maybe if they tried to juke someone every now and then, they could get some extra yards or maybe even break off a touchdown...just a thought.

I don't know why I'm complaining, because after all, a win is a win...isn't it?

I know, it's just not the same when we are playing like 3rd graders at recess.
