For a team that has had as many ups and downs as it has, they have surprisingly not drafted that bad. In fact, I only see ONE name that really pops out to me.
Behold, the Denver Nuggets worst draft pick, Nikoloz Tskitishvili. He may be the worst pick in the Nuggets entire franchise history.
During the 2002 draft, then GM Kiki Vandeweghe tried to go international and turn this franchise into a winner. With Tskitishvili on board with the 5th pick, Kiki traded for Nene Hilario from the Knicks (they took him with the 7th pick) for Frank Williams and I really don't recall what else and I don't feel like looking for that trade.
What I do feel like doing is taking a look at how terribly bad Skita's career was. During his rookie season, he managed to play in 81 regular season games, while starting 16 of them. He averaged just 3.9 points per game, but the talk was all about his potential down the road. That's all fine and good, but when the 7ft Georgian (not the US Georgia) didn't play in more than 39 games in a season the rest of his career, then his window for potential must've been really small.
The Denver Nuggets scouting department really blew this pick. What they saw in him, I'll never know. The Nuggets missed out on guys like Amare Stoudemire and Caron Butler in this draft. Those are the kind of draft night busts that get people fired!
