I hope this finds everyone well and that you all had a great holiday break. I know I did. But, let me get back into it and drop a few things from over the break.
Thanksgiving:
- Turkey good, football good, sleep good!
- I've never been one to get into the Macy's parade. I think football of some form should be on TV from 9am until the end of the night game. Just my thought!
Black Friday:
- Did anyone go shopping? I didn't. I used to work retail and I understand the crap that goes into it and after seeing how some people act on that day, maybe stores should start opening up at their regular time!?!
- With decreased spending and the state of the economy, it would make sense to open later, so the stores don't have to pay their employees as much!
Pacers:
- Good Charlotte - Apparently every team that plays against Indiana is going to have a guy establish a new career high. That guy was Ray Felton with 32 points on Friday night. Pacers lose in OT...awesome!
- Orlando Jones - And....Anthony Johnson was tearing up the Pacers in the first half of the Magic game. WHAT?? Don't worry, Dwight Howard scored 32 points in leading the Magic to a severe beatdown of Indiana on Saturday night.
- LA Express - The Lakers come into town this evening and I will be going to the game. Pretty good seats too. Hope the game is too....
College Football:
- Ball State and Boise State are going to get jobbed in the BCS, but I'm not really surprised.
- I think Texas should be over Oklahoma in the BCS, but I'm not a computer.
- If Alabama and Oklahoma make it to the title game, there will be a whole lot of White and Maroon, or their variations of those colors.
College Basketball:
- IUPUI won their game against Western Michigan and improved to 4-2 on the season.
- IU left the Maui Classic with losses to Notre Dame and Saint Joseph's, but redeemed themselves with a win against Chaminade!! Follow that up with a win against Cornell and IU is back to 4-2! It's a long road Tom Crean.
- Purdue made the NIT Final and lost a tough game to Oklahoma. Blake Griffin is a beast. I don't get the announcers complaining that he only had 8 points and 11 rebounds at the half....dumb!
Colts:
- They continue to grind out games and get victories. This time, they did it with defense.
- I've said it before and I'll say it again, Robert Mathis is better than Dwight Freeney. Maybe if Freeney would concentrate on getting past his defender instead of spinning in circles, then he might get to the ball carrier more often.
Cyber Monday:
- No, it is not a day for 40 somethings to sit at home and cruise the internet ala Kip. It is supposed to be the start of the online shopping season.
- If you are looking for a TV, I just got an email from Best Buy. 56" DLP HDTV (Samsung) for $999. That's not a good deal? Well it's down from $1499. Pretty sweet deal. Now, where is that extra $1000 that I had laying aorund the other day?

Late to the party, but some good stuff in this one.
