After a last second win against Phoenix, Indiana went into Los Angeles with thoughts of beating the Lakers for a second time this season. This game was pretty much like their first meeting. Closely contested for the first 47 minutes and 57 seconds, Kobe Bryant hit his fade away jumper to give the Lakers the win. It was pretty agonizing to see how it ended. Everyone knew who was getting the ball to take the last shot, so it was no surprise to me when he hit it. It is just one of those shots that you can't guard. Awesome if it happens for your team, terrible if you are a fan on the losing end.
With that, I had hoped things would be better on Sunday night against the Warriors...
No, not so much. Another ridiculous scorefest that saw Indiana give the game away again in the late stages. I'm running out of ways to describe the losses at this point in the season, because they are all pretty much the same, except the teams are different. Let me check the list:
* Danny Granger has a big game - Check
* Pacers have a halftime lead - Check
* Allow a big run in the second half - Check
* Keep it close in the fourth, but never pull away - Check
* Lose within the last three minutes - Check
* Allow someone to go off for a new career high or 30+ point game - Check
Those are the main ingredients for this season's recipe for disaster. I can only sit and watch and wait for it to turn to soup!
