Alrighty, down to the last region, the South Region. So far, I have Wake Forest, UConn, and UCLA in my Final Four. If you have been paying attention, then you might be able to guess who I have going into the Final Four from this region.
Best First Round Games: Clemson vs Michigan, LSU vs Butler.
Michigan is led by Manny Harris, who is one of the best all-around players in college basketball, in my opinion. Clemson is a tough, scrappy team. I see the Wolverines coming out on top by the end of the game.
Butler is known for being a tough out, but LSU will give them all they can handle. I think Butler will neutralize the Tigers' athleticism and move on to round two.
Final Four Pick: North Carolina
The Tar Heels are the clear choice to me to prevail from this group. Oklahoma doesn't have it, Syracuse is good, but I don't see them lasting, and Gonzaga usually collapses in the later rounds. Plus, with all of the experience that the Tar Heels have, coupled with Roy Williams' coaching experience, I just have to take the Tar Heels here.
Possible Sleepers: The only team that I really see as a possible sleeper in this region is Arizona State. The Sun Devils are a solid team and Herb Sendek has them going in the right direction. James Harden can take over games, but don't forget about Jeff Pendergraph down low.
