Now that Drew Gooden has been bought out by the Kings, he is free to sign with another team in time for the playoffs. I think that the Pacers should push for Gooden's services. By adding Gooden, the Pacers can add another big body that can help with the Pacers' style of play.
By signing Gooden, the Pacers can let Rasho Nesterovic hit free agency this summer and then they can trade Jeff Foster to add other pieces to the puzzle, while going after a big man that fits the offense in the draft. Gooden teamed with Troy Murphy would provide for a decent one-two scoring punch from the power forward slot. Gooden isn't as good on the perimeter as Murphy, but he is definitely better on the blocks than Jeff Foster. He is also a capable rebounder as his career average of eight rebounds a game indicates.
In the end, Gooden will probably sign with a championship contender and the Pacers won't make a move on him. Please, bring him and his facial hair to Indianapolis.
