http://www.arinitout.com/img/jgardner.jpgIf you have paid attention, you would know that I am a fan of the Pacers and the Arizona Wildcats.  Since Indiana is my home state, I also have a special place in my basketball heart for Hoosier ballers.  Jason Gardner is one of those Hoosiers and a former U of A star.  I've always wondered what he was up to these days.

I found this article today on Indystar.com that was posted back in January of this year.  In the article, Gardner says that his height was the main factor that kept him out of the NBA.  He also cited his 39% shooting percentage his senior year as another factor.

With his experience since his days at Arizona, I think it is time for Gardner to get a shot in the NBA now.  And why not bring him back home to Indianapolis to play for the Pacers?  He could be a perfect fit as a third PG for next season.  Let him take over for Travis Diener who really hasn't lived up to the expectations placed on him when he came to Indiana.  They can pay Gardner less money for the same production and possibly more.

Besides, with all the trouble the Pacers are having with attendance, I think it would do them some good to bring home one of their own.
