2009 Free Agents
- Raymond Felton (Restricted)
- Cartier Martin (Restricted)
- Sean Singletary (Team Option - Restricted)
- Sean May (Restricted)
- Juwan Howard (Unrestricted)
Of these five, I would bring Felton and Martin back. However, it is the Bobcats, so who knows what they will do here.
Depth Chart (Pre-Draft)
PG: DJ Augustin
SG: Raja Bell - Dontell Jefferson
SF: Gerald Wallace - Vladimir Radmanovic
PF: Emeka Okafor - Boris Diaw
C: DeSagana Diop - Nazr Mohammed - Alexis Ajinca
Draft Picks (Mock Picks)
- 12th overall - Brandon Jennings, PG, Italy - Jennings would come in and backup Augustin right away. He is long and athletic, which helps in defending on the perimeter.
- 40th overall - Tyler Smith, SG/SF, Tennessee - Smith can help add some athleticism to the wings. If paired up with Gerald Wallace there won't be a whole lot of perimeter play.
- 54th overall - Jeff Adrien, SF/PF, Connecticut - Adrien is a slasher and a hustler. Good energy guy for this late in the draft.
Depth Chart (Post-Draft)
PG: DJ Augustin - Brandon Jennings
SG: Raja Bell - Tyler Smith - Dontell Jefferson
SF: Gerald Wallace - Vladimir Radmanovic - Jeff Adrien
PF: Emeka Okafor - Boris Diaw - Jeff Adrien
C: DeSagana Diop - Nazr Mohammed - Alexis Ajinca
Players on Trade Block
- Nazr Mohammed
I would assume the Bobcats would try to get rid of Mohammed's salary at all cost. But, are there any takers?
Final Analysis
The Bobcats need to clean out their front office and start with a fresh look on things. Until then, this team will excite from time to time, but will continue to miss the playoffs.
