It looks like the Pacers have declined the team option on G/F reserve, Marquis Daniels.  He would have made around 8mil this year, so this was a money move for sure.  The move puts Daniels on the unrestricted free agent list this summer.  It is believed that the Pacers will try to re-sign Daniels to a lower contract, but how much is to yet to be determined.

Free agency starts on July 1st, so only two days away from what is sure to be an interesting summer.  A lot of players are going to have to take minimum deals with the way the economy is and how teams are operating now.

The only two remaining restricted free agents on the Pacers' roster right now are Jarrett Jack and Josh McRoberts.  Jack has a 2.9mil qualifying offer on the table right now, so we will see if he accepts or rejects that.  McRoberts will most likely be back with the team this season, but his role will be limited again.  He is a nice hustle/energy player off the end of the bench.  A team could do a lot worse than McRoberts.

You would think that McRoberts would try to turn himself into another Birdman...

McRoberts is certainly a popular player with the fans, but not as much flair as the Birdman.
